See NXT managed services

The final amount depends on your configuration and options, the number of devices, the term you choose and the current terms and rates of Apple Financial Services. All amounts are excl. VAT. NXT start is designed for teams of up to 10 employees; if your team grows, we look together at the right management plan.

What happens at the end of the term

When the term ends you have three options, and you only choose at that point. Nothing is fixed in advance, and nothing locks you in automatically.

Renew

You hand the devices back and start again with new ones. Your employees are back on recent hardware, and your monthly amount stays in the same range.

Keep

Still happy with a device? Then you can buy it. We agree the terms for that in writing up front.

Terms agreed in advance

Return

You simply stop. The devices go back, and we take care of wiping the data and handling the paperwork.

We handle the paperwork

Wear, tear and damage

Normal signs of use are not a problem. Damage beyond normal use is charged when the devices are returned. We put in writing beforehand what that covers, so you don’t end up in a dispute once the devices have already gone.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum amount for AFS leasing?

The minimum order value is €2,500. In practice, that is roughly one complete workstation. If you are below that, we look together at whether a straightforward purchase is simply easier. Under that amount, the flexibility of leasing usually does not outweigh buying outright.

Can a start-up qualify for AFS?

Yes, in most cases, for new businesses from one year after the company was founded. Every application is also subject to credit approval, which looks at the financial health of the business.

What happens if a device breaks?

Normal wear and tear from daily use is accepted at no extra cost. More serious damage, or a device that no longer works, will be charged for. That is why we always include insurance in our proposal. Worth knowing: the monthly lease payments carry on as normal, even when a device is temporarily out of use.

What if an employee leaves?

You can then assign the device to a new employee or keep it in the fleet as a spare. In practice this works smoothly: new employees get a new device, and older devices are only collected once the replacement has been handed out, so there is no interruption. If you have NXT managed services, we make sure every device is properly wiped and unlinked from its previous user before it is handed out again.

Can we add devices during the term?

Yes, that is a standard part of AFS. You can lease more whenever you need to and easily add extra devices during the term. In practice, a new device gets its own sub-agreement under the same framework contract, with its own term that does not have to line up with the rest of the fleet. Your contract grows with your team, without you having to renegotiate everything.

How does it work for accounting?

AFS works as an operating lease, also known as off-balance-sheet leasing. In practice:

  • The device does not go on your company’s balance sheet. The lessor remains the owner and takes care of depreciation.
  • The monthly lease payment is a fully deductible business expense, just like rent.
  • VAT is handled per invoice and is deductible in that quarter’s return.
  • Because no investment or debt appears on the balance sheet, your solvency ratio stays unchanged. That can work in your favour if you apply for credit later.
We would rather buy, so it is ours. Why would we lease?

AFS wins not on price but on cash flow and predictability. No large one-off outlay, no capital tied up in hardware that is technically outdated within three years, and the devices stay off the balance sheet. For a growing business that would rather invest in people or turnover than in MacBooks, that argument often outweighs the slightly higher total cost. And in a professional Apple environment you replace devices every three to four years anyway. Leasing simply makes that cost explicit and predictable, rather than a periodic drain.

Can I combine this with IT management?

Yes, and this is where nxtbit makes the difference. AFS handles the financing of the device, and nxtbit handles its management through an NXT plan within NXT managed services. Those are two separate cost items, a lease payment and a management fee for MDM, security, support and updates, but we present them to you as one predictable monthly price per employee. So you never have a separate IT budget to piece together yourself.
